A PALITOY Star Wars Jawa figure with rare Vinyl Cape on original 12-back card (SW-12B) from the first year of production in 1978. One of the rarest carded Star Wars figures in existence on this card variation - approximately 10-15 known in the world. Card is almost flat, some slight creasing to the corners from storage and the card even has the punch tab still present in situ. Colours of the card are immaculate and the bubble has not suffered any yellowing as the figure has never been on display (C.F. Astons Auctioneers lot 738 29/11/2020 where a similar figure was sold) - Provenance - the vendor worked as Art Director for Marvel UK between 1974-1979 and these figures were gifted by Palitoy to Marvel as part of the promotion of the figures in their comics. N.B. A handwritten letter of provenance from the vendor also accompanies this lot, together with a copy of the photo eventually used for the promotion. - E on VG/E card
