A collection of PETER ROGERS related ephemera comprising of:
- Peter Rogers (Carry On producer) – short handwritten note to Iris (Millard) on large headed paper, signed ‘Peter’;
- Franklyn Rogers (artist, brother of Peter Rogers) – eleven ALS and cards on headed notepaper, mostly relating to personal, medical and financial matters;
- Muriel Box (Director/screenwriter, sister-in-law of well known producer Betty Box who was married to Peter Rogers) – long autograph note with interesting personal content to Dirk (Bogarde) on the back of an A4 script page from an unknown production;
- Ralph Thomas (best known as Director of the ‘Doctor’ films, brother of Gerald) – ALS to Iris (Millard) dated 7/5/90 with personal content, signed ‘Ralph’. Comes with a 14 page biography and filmography regarding Ralph’s life and career;
- Joy Thomas (wife of Ralph) – ALS dated 25/3/2001 to Iris (Millard) on headed paper following the death of Ralph a few days earlier, thanking Iris for her flowers and sending her £3,000 to ‘tide her over’;
- Wilfred Pickles – one page TLS dated 14/6/57 on the headed paper of Hotel Leofric Coventry to Muriel and Sidney (Box) thanking them for their good wishes on the opening night of ‘Ride A Cock Horse’ at the Coventry Theatre in which they were both appearing, signed ‘Wilfred and Muriel’ (Pickles). Comes with a vintage programme for the play;
- a number of other letters from lesser known family members along with assorted ephemera including vintage brochures and photographs, invitations to events celebrating the lives of Betty Box and Peter Rogers, a royalty statement, payslip, an accountant’s note regarding Betty Box Investments Ltd, and an unused replica film clapperboard in its original box.
